Big news from the Accelerated Muscle Biotechnologies team! We’re thrilled to kick off a new collaboration project with Dr. Samantha Harris, now officially backed by fresh NIH NIAMS funding.
This is a major endeavor with $2.4 million in support for her pioneering “cut and paste” MyBP-C models aimed at unlocking the role of the sarcomere protein MyBP-C in skeletal muscle. Our team will be leading full-service X-ray experiments to support this innovative work, to advance fundamental, translational, and clinical insights into both healthy and diseased muscle function.
We’re especially proud of how this project was received; our application scored in the top 1% of NIH submissions. That vote of confidence reflects the importance of the science and the strength of the team.
On AMB’s end, our X-ray studies for this collaboration will take place at two premier research facilities: (NIH and DOE-supported) LiX beamline National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II) Brookhaven National Laboratory and BioCAT beamline the Advanced Photon Source Argonne National Laboratory.
