History of AMB

AMB was founded by 4 partners consisting of two expert muscle physiologists specializing in X-ray diffraction, one muscle modeling scientist, and one business professional interested in healthcare-related industries. The goal of the group was to provide access to this unique method to all researchers while also improving data collection hardware and analysis software. From the scientists’ own research, they began to innovate how muscle X-ray diffraction science done to
speed up and standardize the experimental process, with specific focus on sample collection hardware, analysis, and interpretation software. It is from these experiences that they realized that commercializing their innovations into a full-service core facility would provide the cost-effective, high-throughput, high-quality muscle diffraction experimentation craved by drug developers, biotechnology companies, and healthcare markets.

Dr. Anthony L. Hessel
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Hessel, PhD is career research scientist with a unique transdisciplinary research focus and training that covers exercise science, muscle disease, wearable assistive biotechnologies, cardiac/skeletal muscle physiology, protein biophysics, and small-angle X-ray diffraction science.
Dr. Khoi D. Nguyen
Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Nguyen, PhD is in charge of data analysis and molecular modeling of skeletal and cardiac muscles. He is a subject matter expert in muscle science and imaging technologies and originally trained as a mechanical engineer.
Michel Kühn
Director of Customer Services
Mr. Kühn, MSc is an exercise/muscle physiologist focused on mechanical, structural, and cellular adaptations of cardiac and skeletal muscle due to exercise.
Anna Good
Chief Operations Officer
Ms. Good, MBA is in charge of all business management and marketing strategies at AMB. She is a small business owner (USA) and has long-term experience as a business consultant and organizer.
